London! My favourite big city! Coming to stay or even just visiting for the day always feels like a home away from home. But don't get me wrong 99% of the time I come to the city to work and the past couple of days have been no exception!
One of the harsh realities of blogging is shooting multiple outfits in one day, as many as you can manage all in different locations. This generally involves a lot of time and a lot of changing in public bathrooms, an image slightly less glam than the finished products.
In the last two days I have managed to shoot a total of 6 outfits. A feat I'm particularly proud of. However I wanted to do a little behind the scenes of the tactics (yes it's that serious) that I used to create as much content as possible!
First up! Layering.
Coats are your best friend when switching up a look, your coat, shoes and bag can be all you need for a great composition, then you take off the coat and bam! A whole new look!
I managed to shoot two entirely different looks by just changing my jacket. In the first photo the lighting is to my side so my jeans look darker and my top loses its colour because there's no light directly on me. Switching to a different jacket and adding a pair of sunglasses and facing the sun straight on brings the colour out in my jeans and crop jumper as well as adding major sass to my usually dark-pink-at-best sunnies.
The best way to create as much content as you can is to think about things you absolutely need to do in your day and create content around that. For example I had to wake up so first thing I shot some pyjama outfits again experimenting with lighting and setting. Then since we were at a hotel I knew I'd have to get dressed for breakfast then go back up to the room. So after breakfast I went outside and shot my outfit before going back up to the room and changing again!
I post 1-2 times a day so in my two days in the city I created potentially 11 days of content! It seems so silly to put all this planning behind getting outfit photos but if you're a blogger you'll know the struggle to not have too many photos that are too similar near each other for the all important theme! Which unfortunately means that if you want to spend the weekend shooting you cant just do one outfit per day!
